Travel

I love to travel, especially with family and friends. In most every location, I’m liable to find a historic site to tour while there. I hope you enjoy some of the images from my travels. Daniel Boone Home

Daniel Boone Home

In 2011, I attended an ACFW conference in Missouri. My mother traveled with me and while there decided to do a little local exploring. We toured the Daniel Boone Home and other old buildings transferred onto the property. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take pictures while inside the home where Boone died. I hope you enjoy the pictures. (All images are copyrighted. Please do not use them without written consent. Thank you.)

Fanthorp Inn

Fanthorp Inn - Dog-run Style House

In 2011, we also toured the Fanthorp Inn in Anderson, Texas. A historic site and tour you don’t want to miss. You can also snag a ride on a stagecoach.

Texian Market Days

Texian Market Days Oct 2014

In October 2014, I got to enjoy the in-action history of the Texian Market Days at the George Ranch Historical Park. On the property, there were four historical homes to tour, plus a Civil War reenactment, a 1890s-style baseball game, and more. The four different historical homes to tour were the:

  • 1830s Jones Stock Farm
  • 1860s Ryon Prairie Farm
  • 1890s Davis Mansion Site
    • Blacksmith Shop
    • 1890s Style Baseball Game
    • Old-Time Medicine Show
    • Sharecropper Farm
  • 1930s George Cattle Complex
